Originally from Albany, New York, Kevin Garry got his start in the restaurant business as a dishwasher at his uncle's restaurant when he was 14. He quickly moved to line cook and eventually front of house. Garry continued working in restaurants while attending Boston College, where he was pursuing a degree in marketing.
During a semester abroad in Bordeaux, France, Garry really began to develop an appreciation for the culture of food and wine. In 2003, he moved to New York City, and, needing rent money, applied for a waiter position at Gramercy Tavern. To his surprise, Garry fell in love with the hospitality business and was quickly promoted to manager, becoming extremely involved with the restaurant's beverage program. He comes to L'Artusi looking forward to cultivating the restaurant's warm, neighborhood feel.
